Women Around the World Recognised at Event in New York City
Brisbane, Australia – November 18, 2017 – OCEANS 2 EARTH VOLUNTEERS have been named the winner of 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Stevie® Awards in the following categories in the 14th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
- Silver Stevie® Award – Organisation of the Year – Government or Non-Profit– 10 or Less Employees
- Bronze Stevie® Award – Women-Run Workplace of the Year – 10 or Less Employees
TRACY LESKE, Co-Founder and Director of Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers won silver and bronze in the following categories.
- Bronze Stevie® Award Female Innovator of the Year – Government or Non-Profit –10 or Less Employees
- Silver Stevie® Award – Woman of the Year – Government or Non-Profit
- Silver Stevie® Award – Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Asia, Australia or New Zealand
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. All individuals and organisations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2017 awards received entries from 25 nations and territories.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners last night during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The event was broadcast via Livestream.
More than 1,500 nominations from organisations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year, among others.

About Tracy Leske and her work
Tracy lives in Brookfield, Brisbane.
She has volunteered around the world for a variety of animal welfare and conservation organisations. Her realisation that volunteer resources are essential in enabling these organisations to continue their vital work, led her, in 2011, to become the Founder and Director of Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers, a not for profit organisation dedicated to providing volunteer resources to animal welfare and conservation organisations worldwide.
Tracy has become involved with numerous campaigns aimed at abolishing practices that abuse, enslave and exploit animals. She has fundraised for orang-utan rescue, rehabilitation and habitat protection, conducted research and evaluated community-based human-elephant conflict mitigation programs in Africa and is an avid campaigner about the impacts of palm oil production in South-East Asia and factory farming.
Tracy feels a responsibility to lead by example and work towards supporting progressive legislation towards a kinder planet. It is the obligation of organisations such as Oceans 2 Earth to rally volunteers, partners, supporters and followers to encourage fairness towards animals and support humane choices.
Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 170 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process.
